Currently doing a part-time online PhD in climate change adaptation at the University of Bonn – Expected to finish in June 2027; M.Sc. in Sustainable Resource Management (Specialized in environmental economic & polices; and renewable energies) at the Technical University of Munich; and B.Sc in Environmental Science (Specialized in Ecology Conservation) at James Cook University, Cairns, Australia.

Background

Diego is currently a freelancer consultant mainly working for the International Labour Organization (ILO) in Geneva. Previously, he worked for the last two years at the International Training Centre for the ILO in Turin as an associate programme officer and before that, he was a NbS specialist for the WWF International in Berlin. He has also consulted for the French Development Agency and the FAO. He is also the founder of a peruvian NGO called Ficus Peru Desarrollo Socioambiental and acts as part of the board of directors. His work consists of providing technical and strategic assistance that covers aspects on implementation, research and capacity building. 

An interesting fact about you 

I started working in the Peruvian Amazon in 2014, and after building up a circle of friends, I decided 10 years later to invest in a lodge owned by one of my friends there. We are still working on the idea, but here is his company’s website: https://reduakarijungletours.com/
