Education

Architecture Diploma at Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Peru (PUCP); M.Sc. Integrated Urbanism and Sustainable Design at the University of Stuttgart

Areas of expertise:

My area of expertise is sustainable design at different scales, from buildings to urban districts. I am also very interested in the development of public spaces, green areas and public transport because they are essential for making cities more liveable. The above-mentioned aspects are fundamental to successfully achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).

Background

I work as an international business consultant with focus in architecture and planning of airport cities. These projects seek to provide facilities on the Landside areas by creating better connections with high quality public spaces. Before moving to Germany I worked on research projects to provide solutions for low-cost and earthquake-resistant housing at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP) and with the NGO CARE Perú.

What drew you to gaia-liNc’s mission?

From the beginning of my career I observed how cities are designed/occupied, you can see a complete disconnection between urban development and nature. Therefore, I would like to work on proposals and capacity building to integrate ecosystems into the urban environment.  What also brings me to Gaia-liNc is a feeling of gratitude for the opportunities I had to develop my career. I would like to share the knowledge I have gained and work with like-minded people to bring about change for our societies.

An interesting fact about you:

My passion for learning about urban development took me to different cities and continents, and while most of these trips were for educational purposes I had the luck to meet wonderful people and understand different cultures and traditions. I joined pilgrimages to sacred mountains and volcanoes, helped building houses in different regions and through enriching experiences I learn about a healthy and a mindful way of living.
